about

The second digital 7 inch from “The Extinction,” the new Ghosts of Progress record about a religious community waiting for the end of the world. The tracks were recorded in Kelseyville, California on a warm sunny afternoon with a slew of musicians taking part (members of Travel by Train, the Sad Bastard Book Club, Between the Pine, and ssighborggggg).

lyrics

Black Skin

My brother paid a price of blood
For the color of his skin
He swung like rotting fruit
From an old willow tree
And they say he was not from this land
But he built this country’s walls
He dreamt its roads to life
He gave its cities light
So I came to east Ohio
Where a preacher heard his fate
And he promised revenge on angel’s wings
When God returns in spring
And I wait for it to come
Wait for my revenge to come
And I wait for it to come
Wait for my revenge to come

Some say my skin is a dark one
But there’s will turn on them
And as they curse my name and heart
I will wave them to their rusty train
I will wave them to a rusty train
